I don't get it you have the Nissan Cima in Japan which to me is the M37

Why not take some of the options from the Cima and add it to the Q70L???

rear door sunshades, rear console with controls, power outlet....etc

The weird thing is, those were options (at least the rear console with controls + reclining rear seats) on the Y50. They removed that + the tilting head rests (front), extendable sun visors, etc. from the Y51 (period, they don't exist). Like, who takes options AWAY when making a new car?

The current gen Y51 (latest with the nice front and rear) is probably the last M I'll own when it's time to get rid of my '11. I hear they are going to go mostly electric going forward...if that happens, Nissan/Infiniti will lose me as a customer.

Agreed. Barring Infiniti coming up with something spectacular, I don't see myself buying another one. I'll likely go either BMW 7 or Lexus LS.

As of right now my next car will probably be a Lexus GS. BMW scares me with maintenance costs :ohno:

You get so much with Lexus in my opinion. It just appears that Infiniti is putting all effort into their suv's

BMW maintenance can be pricey, but they have maintenance packages you can buy along with their extended warranties. My wife has had 2 CPO X5s, both with the maintenance package. She hasn't had to pay for anything extra, not even wiper blades. They certainly don't have as long a life as Lexus, but they are better now than they were 5 years ago.

So did they 'rebrand' the Fuga to Cima for the L version Y51? Originally the Cima was their largest sedan equivalent to the Q45 in the US. Just curious.....

My next car will probably be a '19 or '20 Q70 (my 3rd M) as I'm still 3-4 years out (hopefully) of my M56x being too old to keep going. I plan to keep my '11 as long as it's feasible...I only have a couple of thousand left to pay it off so even if I have to sync $2k a year into it to keep it going that's better than $500/12 per year. But if I wasn't gettin another M later, I'd be in the market for a used LS or an A6/A8.

How long can the Q70 keep going without a remodel? Even with the facelift in '15 it dates back to 2011, and I've heard of nothing new beyond '18/'19.

The Q70 will be gone in a year or two. i think they said that late 2020 is when the replacement model comes out. It won't really be a replacement but the Infiniti Q80 will replace it "and it looks amazing!!!". it won't be near the price of a new M37/Q70 since this model will be close to a starting 90k+

i do want to get one

is it possible to get part numbers for some of these features? I'd be very interested in parts for the rear side sunshades, especially if the cost wasn't outrageous....

I think infiniti is working on a direct q70 replacement I doubt that they would choose to give up the midsize sedan market. They might be working on a full size sedan competitor but probably alongside the q70 replacement.

I'm pleased and saddened to read how many of you are in the same place I have been since the let-down, oops I mean 're-design' of the Q70. I tend to be a bit picky sometimes and I wondered if I was cynical when slightly bashing the lack of effort from Infiniti to satisfy the full size sedan lovers. Aside from the dash board and minor cosmetic changes, Infiniti have used same interior, the same audio system, and the same seats since 2006. The 2019 model will also be yet the same. Even the Q50 has seen the demise of some of the features as it went through 're-design'. You will be hard pressed to find even the most popular features such as memory seats in a Q50. Infiniti have abandoned the sedans for the SUVs and even some if those have gone unchanged for years aside from new bumpers. It's hard to see my future in an Infiniti when they don't have any vision for a future for themselves.
You can find a 2015 LS460 AWD with 40k miles for about 40 grand! That's real leather, real wood, an actual high-end audio system, and tons of features not even available in a Q70 for half the price of a new (same old) Q70 !!!
Only one thing would even temp me to consider a Q70 and that is a diesel option. But even with the partnership of Mercedes to make it happen, they aren't even considering that.

Yep looked at other competitors and I see how they hsve moved ahead and Infiniti with the q70 seems stuck. As I mentioned before, it looks like my next vehicle will be a Lexus probably. I looked at what you can find in a late model Lexus GS and it hands down what you get in equipment
