I took my badges off with a blade, put flat against the paint but not touching, then put it on the tape that holds the badge and just lift it with your fingers, piece of cake.

Agreed! As for the original post...I didn't take the Nissan badge off, thought it looks good. Could it be attached to the trunk with screws?

yes its tape AND probably screwed, there are prolly two holes for prongs if no screws atleast.

I know cause my old accord symbol had to be replaced on the trunk....

Actually, I'd be surprised if it used any sort of physical fastener (clips, screws, etc.). I haven't seen a Nissan that did for years, even on the Nissan emblem (unless it's in/on the grille).

If floss isn't cutting it, try a steel E-string from a guitar.

A STEEL STRING? Isnt that essentially asking for a screwed up rear end??

Jin, its not screwed on... and ive seen a friend take it off using only floss... you need to think of those lumberjack guys on tv cutting thru a log... its the buffing/sawing action going back and forth thats going to have the floss rip thru the 3m tape... use the "silk" style floss that looks plasticlike... and you will break like 5 strands while getting it done, but it will work... all you need to do is be able to get a portion of it up, then rip the rest off.. i know it sounds nuts, but it wont leave a mark... id do this before i touch a STEEL ANYTHING to my paint.

I got the nissan badge off after switching from floss to twine.

The twine had a rougher texture that helped to "saw" through the tape. Once you get it worked through the top "bun" of the burger, you can grab it with your finger and pry it the rest of the way off. Then you can easily peel off the tape that remains on the car.

It can be done. But it is frustrating. Good luck!

If everything else fails, buy one of those 3M adhesive removal spray. It's like a tar and bug spray but slightly stronger. Heat up the badge and spray some of those on. Let it seat for a 30 seconds to a minute and then spray again and start pulling or using the floss again. The spray should soften the adhesive enough to be taken off easily.

Hope that helps.

To confirm the NISSAN is taped too right? I want all of them removed!

I'm going to ask my dealer to do it, so I don't have to bother with the Goo.

after intense blow drying and many snapped floss, i have finally got the burger off. some tough tape. if you're trying to take off the nissan badge, get a friend to help you. use floss the cut the tape while your friend blow dries it. so much easier. and fyi no badge in the back side is screwed on. it's all just super hard tape. don't waste money by going to a dealer. just use wipe away or goo gone that you can buy at your local wal-mart and it'll get the sticky stuff off

Or you can use Goo Gone. After you remove the badges. Wax it.
