I got my 87 back on the road again. The problem seemed to be the ECU and i replaced it with one from an 88 nissan d21... well the ecu's were slightly different as far as the ID stickers on each. Well it runs fine through the driving range of all gears... Where my problem is, is at idle. When i pull up at a light.. the rpm slows to 1.1k rpm... and sometimes will fall to like 680-700 rpm... I just replaced the plugs on the truck and the wires. Could this be normal? or just a problem with a mix-match ECU?

I would worry if the idle was rough. 6-700 is about where mine idles.

yah it kinda is.. like the car kinda vibrates but that could be my super tight torsion bars.. but coming form my exhaust... it sounds like there is a bit of poping...not like back fire...but there is a pop.

Check throttle position sensor, most idle problems come from that

Not sure, if you hear a popping sound on exhaust you may have a leak at the manifold or at one of the connections. Look for black soot at all places it bolts to engine and to other parts of pipe. Try a search on google for nissan TPS adjustment, may get lucky. Also first make sure the contacts are clean and corrosion free, that is a problem on many older cars. The connectors oxidize and do not make good contact, also as always check for any cracked vacuum lines.
