Ok, so I took off the 2.5 and the Altima emblem and decided I would keep the Nissan one. So I am washing my car the other day and it looks like there is a small amount of rust forming around it. Has anyone else had this problem and what should I do??

Not every A/c has exact same details, especially cosmetically. Maybe he DOES have metal emblems, who knows @_@

No, but I can guarantee you that Nissan orders a crap ton of "nissan" symbols for all of their cars...and they're all plastic.

I am going to guess that "rust forming around it" means that the rust is underneath the emblem or at the edges where the emblem meets the body. Perhaps there's some paint missing or a scratch and the water that gets trapped at the ridges of the emblem have caused that area to rust. Anyway... this thread is worthless without seeing the problem. So OP, determine if it is really rust. If it is, go to the dealership, this should be well within the rust/perforation warranty or you can argue that its a defect in the painting process.

That looks like rust, but I dont think its coming from the emblem, looks like its from the body. Yikes

You're right, it does look like rust, but I'm pretty sure that's not your emblem being the cause of it... could just be a bad paint job or some f***ed up prep for the badges when they slapped them on. The badge is just on there with some double sided tape... can't see how that'd cause rust... take it back to the dealer and the above has mentioned, exercise the rust warranty on it

let us know how it goes

those pics look like it's for sure not the emblem rusting, but rather the body of the car underneath the emblem rusting. take to the dealer and they SHOULD fix that for you no charge.

That sucks, car kinda looks dirty and he lives in Florida by the ocean. Doesn't take much to rust over there. A little saltwater in that crevice with tiny nicks in the paint. Dealer will definitely take care of it.

Use a hairdrier and see how much rust is underneath.

Let us know if dealer will pay for it.

Yea it is a little dirty. I only find time to clean it once every 2 weeks and its about that time. I know living by the ocean can cause it but I am mainland (10 min from the beach) and my car is garage kept, plus it is friggin new! I just hit 3000 miles, I dont see how there coul be rust already. I am taking it to the dealer next week, I wonder what they will say.
