I'd fork over the extra cash for the Nismo version just so I could avoid the daytime running lights...

...provided Nissan fixed the brake ducting issue on the original NISMO trim 370Z that led to a crash, at the hands of a trade magazine no less! I'm guessing the stoppers are still Akebono instead of Brembo based on the phrase "red-color brake calipers", if they were Brembo I'm pretty sure we'd have been told. For all the "Akebonos are just as good as Brembo" folk just take a peek at what stops the GT-R. ;) And I'd like to see some details about what " revised brake system components" means (hopefully more than just the R35 fluid Nissan fed into the NISMO Z - I can do that at home). None of the Z's, not even this with the Nismo badge, have steel braided Brake lines from the factory, needs to at least be included in the sport package and should certainly come the Nismo. I see they Nissan went on the cheap and didn't stitch weld the 370 Nismo like they did the 350...seems like a lot of extra money for some stickers.

I would have also been happy to see the "Euro" rear-foglight added, instead of just a red plastic reflector in the new US model (What, don't we get fog in the US?), a MECHANICAL (clutch or helical, I don't care) LSD in the 370Z, at least in the NISMO with a price north of $40K, instead of the barely better than open diff viscous unit and a move away from the ugly combi-gauge on the left side of the cluster as well as going back to the old read and amber colour scheme instead of the bright white numbers on the tach and speedo.

Yeah, I'm a tough crowd.

I do think the new front fascia is a vast improvement over the Count Chocula look and it's nice to still see Rays making the forgies for the NISMO, at least Nissan didn't cheap up on those like they did the brakes. I better not say that too loudly, next thing I know we'll be seeing some Rotas on the 2014 Z.

I still like the Z, it's aging gracefully, and it looks like Nissan isn't neglecting it with improvements only minor enough to make those that must have the latest and greatest sign on the dotted line. I also see some off the bloat that killed of the old 300ZX creeping in to the Z and moving the car further away from the idea of the original Z.

$33.1k for the cheapest model? :frown:

Nissan, please gives us an FR coupe priced similar to the FRS and Genesis coupe turbo. With so many 2.0L turbo engines hitting the market, it seems like Nissan is just being stubborn about reviving the Silvia. With the market shifting away from V6's, it seems like the time couldn't be any more right.

Next-gen Z to have a i4-turbo may have a base model in the price range you are seeking.

^^^I'm on board with that. Gimme a FR coupe powered by turbo 4 banger strong enough to handle 350whp on stock internals in a chassis weighing in around 3000lbs priced like the the FRS/BRZ/Gen coupe and I will be a happy camper. Extra points to Nissan if they can do all this and offer a 2+2 variation as well.

I think Nissan could build a car with all those qualities for a lot more $$$$$. Personally, I spent $28k on a beautiful car that is plenty fast for me and solid as a rock. I have had it a year and 1/2 with zero issues. Nobody else builds a car of this quality for this price. I can't tell you how many people I have nearly breaking their neck to get a glance at my car. As a matter of fact, it happened this morning on the way to work. I just smirk. I'm totally happy with my car and the $$$ I spent on it. I have no complaints. (OK, the side mirrors are way too big) :squint:

I can't wait to see the next Z. Hopefully I can get one. :shifter:

It's supposed to be even smaller. I don't really understand Nissan with the 370Z as there is really no promotion of it on their part. Maybe it's not environmental enough for focus?

The only commercial I have seen on one is when the guy is pulling it out into a Maxima!

:chuckle:

The dealerships around here have very few of them. Very large dealerships and they usually only have one or two at a time. Did the earthquake/tsunami last year affect Z production?

Yes, but that's not an issue at this point anyway. I don't know why it's not promoted. You would think they are missing lots of sales potential.

I Bought Mine last weekend...So far loving it....Taking a Little getting use to...coming out of a Full size Ford F150

They only Had 3 on the Lot when I bought Mine...2012 and 2- 2013's They made me a Better deal on the 2013....go figure....The dealer did say they do not run specials Nor discount the Z's he said they don't have too

price was around what I figured....but it was 25,000 less than a new Corvette

Happy with mine.....but amazed on how few of them I see on the Road....at lest around my town...I did pass one Friday on my way home...the Guy in it just looked over and smiled...gave me a NOD...and kept on going...Make me feel like my Motorcycle days where all bikers wave to each other....Z owners are in a class and group all by them selves....Pretty cool.....

It is funny how few Z's you see on the road. They are such a bargain for what you get!

I try to always do the Z wave or nod. Some people just ignore you. Some are very friendly!

I see very few 370's on the road either. Nissan does not really promote it for some reason.

:ohno:

Speaking of Nissan commercials. I LOVE the new Altima commercial where they are advertising the horn honking when the tires get to the right pressure. Funny as heck. Took me a couple of time seeing it that I figured out where they were headed with it.

:chuckle:

I did tell the salesman that I had to take it to Sonic because if my tea wouldn't fit in the cupholder we didn't have a sale. Thank God it fit.
