Nissan and Partners Bundle Mobile Phone With Intelligent Key for Vehicles

There is news about NISSAN or its parent company Renault everyday like this one

Instead of getting more glamorous everyday they could focus little bit on Quality Control, they really suck at this.

I was and am a victim of this in my first car and my second car V is also showing signs of this after 1000 miles, numerous noises here and there

I really don't know if it is my bad luck to blame or may be I am keen to find out faults after being a victim on my first car

So instead of a little key fob, I can get a crappy cell phone to use as a key? Maybe if they included it with a lot of different phones, or had some kind of add-on for a phone it would be a good deal. What happens in two years when you want to upgrade phones?

I can't see this being a popular option.

I don't see this first one being very popular, BUT think about it this way. If you lose your i-Key, how much does it cost to get a replacement? I can't imagine that they could charge much more than that for the phone.

It would be really super if there were a standard that all car makers used for their key systems so that cell phones could come with the "i-Key" tech ability. You could then just pay the dealer to program your phone to work with your car. Now THAT would be cool.

May be Cell phone providers can have that as an option in their products and car manufacturers can write a software for it that could be downloaded depending upon the make and model
