Red Cross Website for Nissan Donations is Available Now

As noted in a message from Carlos Tavares, Chairman, MC-A, to the Nissan team yesterday, a Red Cross website to accept donations for Japan earthquake relief from the Nissan family is now available at http://american.redcross.org/nissan-pub.

This site is for donations from our employees, contract personnel, dealers, suppliers and customers. In addition to a direct $500,000 donation, Nissan Americas will match all gifts made online through the site, dollar-for-dollar, up to $500,000. (Making for the total of $1,000,000)

Please contact Stephanie Valdez-Streaty with any questions, and thank you for your support. [email protected]

Second, I appreciate your patience as we have worked with our global colleagues to best understand the immediate need, so that we could make a coordinated gift of support from the Nissan Americas region. At this moment the American Red Cross is establishing an online microsite that will accept donations from our employees, contract personnel, dealers, suppliers and customers. In addition to a direct $500,000 donation to this site, Nissan Americas will match all gifts made online there, dollar-for-dollar, up to $500,000. In total Nissan Americas has pledged $1 million to the American Red Cross in relief effort support for the country. Globally, Nissan’s contributions will reach more than $3.75 million in cash and in-kind contributions to support earthquake relief efforts. This includes global and regional corporate donations, employee gift matching, as well as the provision of 50 vehicles to support aid agencies in the affected areas of Japan.

Once again, guys, the donation site is http://american.redcross.org/nissan-pub. We've all been saying how terrible this is, and how much we would love to help, so here's your chance. Every little bit will help. Look at it this way: When you donate $5, you're effectively giving $10 to the cause, since Nissan will be matching, dollar for dollar, your donation. Let's band together for a country in need!

Got this at work today in an Email from Nissan (which I posted in Neal's thread), and I figured I'd pass it on to you guys:

Don't be confused, I just merged the two threads. Carry on and thanks for the donations! :-)
