Hello everyone, first of all I'm new at this forum and my car experience is not that much.

I own a Dodge Neon SRT-4 but I'm thinking of Buying an Altima coupe only for 1 simple reason... I LOVE THAT CAR... i just love how it looks and i think Nissan cars are great. (before neon i had a sentra)

I've read lost of reviews on cars because my friends tell me that i shouldnt buy a nissan, that i should go with the accord coupe...i would appreciate a lot all of your comments comparing this 2 cars

Welcome welcome!

First of all...slap your friends upside the head.

This topic has been discussed in great detail and it is to be expected because the two vehicles are in the same class. If you do a brief search you'll come up with some results on a few heated battles we've had here on this topic.

Here are a few examples...

We are all here because we love our Altima's. So go buy one and don't look back!!

you should test drive both cars and see which one fits you well.

I personally don't like the new accord design!

The altima coupe looks badass!

I don't know the reliability of the new accord, but from what I read many owners of 2.5L altima coupes and 2.5L sedans have many dislikes about their cars.

I have 2007 2.5L sedan and the main complaint I have is the gas mileage my car is getting in city driving. It averages 15 mpg with stock tires and normal driving. On the highway, it seems pretty decent. (around 28 mpg).

besides, my car got 3 recalls. though nothing is serious.

There are a few threads on this topic. Seems like 2.5L is having more problems than 3.5L

*If you go for a 3.5L coupe, then you can ignore my complaints.

Hey, SHIFT, no prob. u werent rude, just direct haha

Thanx for the information pple.

Yes, i'm thinking of buying the 3.5 coupe.I already drove them both. Here my observations, please give me ur opinions.

Honda: it felt a lot lighter than i thought it would be, but to be honest, the inside just felt weird.... it didnt feel like i was inside of a coupe (which personally is something i like.... everything closer)

up's: good response for its size (which i think is BIG), great acceleration (something i'd never write about a honda), great grip in curves, really quiet engine (which i dont like if u r driving a sports car), back seats seem to have a lot of room (personally i dont care about this one cuz i'll always be in the from seat hehe), the sales girl.... she's smoking HOT (i took a picture to post it here)

downs: interiors definitely (overloaded is the word i'd use to describe them) plus it fel like my dad's really old grand marquis lol. brakes heat up VERY fast.... i tried stops from about 80km/h and around the 4rth time, something amazing happened.... the car didnt stop; the cars seems too big... its like a pretty face with a huge arse.

Altima.ups: GOD I LOVE THE SMART KEY AND THE START BUTTON, interiors seem to me that Nissan really put attention to them... details, lots of details; acceleration... i dont know if its the CVT or what but i've never driven an automatic car before, but the ones i knew, felt slow... this time it felt weird/fun because its a smooth powerfull constant acceleration, the compact design made me feel like you are driving a nintendo car... makes u feel u have total control

downs: tires are just lousy, i felt the back tires slipping at some curves that were not too tight. Also, somehow there are too many blind spots.

Suspension: i think there are no ups or downs for this... just taste... altima's harder suspension makes driving a bit more harsh and kind of hard, but i feels a lot more like u r driving a coupe... honda's soft tunning make you feel like u r driving a 2-door sedan

My conclusion:Altima all the way... u just have to change rims and tires and u get an awesome sports car... but u just cant put the honda accord on a diet to loose all its appearent extra weight.

Regars everyone, hope my experience helps some pple

Great review, I finally test drove the new accord and I agree with everything you said, the engine is a big improvement over the 04accord coupe(EXV6) coupe my friend has. I'm not a fan of the outside but the inside build quality was great! Handling was good too...The breaks were horrible but all and all nice car. The Altima is just way better looking to me.

I did test drive the CVT, the 6MT felt faster....and from what I gather on the forums is lighter because the transmission weighs less. As per the tires, yes, the stock tires are ****, easy solution is getting new tires....

I think the accord looks like crap.....

I have the 3.5se coupe I love it, head turner, and it flys.... ^______^

Get the 3.5 Coupe and a set of the Eibach Pro-Kit Springs and you're in heaven. Blind spots? Are you kidding? I test drove 8+ vehicles before I drove the 3.5Coupe and fell in love. The Altima Coupe seems like it was designed perfectly to eliminate blind spots. The majority of vehicles I test drove I had low visibility out the front windshield due to the seat not lowering or raising enough so I could sit comfortably in the center of the windshield. The other thing is the fact the Coupe has the rear 1/4 windows. Those things are placed perfectly. They allow me to check what would be our potential blind spot and eliminates the possibility of not seeing someone.

I bought my coupe right after test driving an '08 Mustang GT. The automatic didn't feel like a mustang at all and the manual felt like a toy-- the interior was all plastic and el cheapo (and I'm sure they let me drive one with all the addons)...

Anyway, I could get into comparing all the vehicles I test drove but honestly hands down the Altima Coupe 3.5SE blew everything else out of the water. After my test drive I told the salesman right away to sign me up. I never felt so confident about a car purchase. Still loving it!
