Nissan alternator compatibility
I'm looking to find an alternator with higher amperage for my 1998 240sx. I checked around at the autoparts websites and found out that certain Maxima, and altimas have 100+amp alternators, which look very similar to mine. Does anyone know if they would work or not? I've been trying a chevy alternator "ebay special" setup, but have had nothing but trouble with them. I don't think they were made to handle 6500 rpm's. I broke the casting where the bottom big bolt goes through, and I also broke the offset bracket on the conversion the second time.

You are correct on the amps, and the article is a very comprehensive write up about swapping the alternators; its in the FAQ/DIY section for 240sx. its supposed to do 110 amps i believe, or more.
