Nissan just released a teaser video of their 3E wearable computer, another step in the drive to integrate man and machine in the real-world driving environment. This emerging technology, similar to Google Glass, will be showcased at the Tokyo Motor Show.
The 3E has a small transparent display that is placed in front of the user's left eye. The chassis of the 3E unit contains the battery and electronics, and connects via Bluetooth.
The 3E will reportedly have video recording capabilities, and likely GPS integration (both of which are easily micro-sized into such a package). In addition, it will most likely integrate with the vehicle's heads-up display, providing critical vehicle information. We're also guessing it will respond to voice commands, which would make sense based on what we know about Nissan's head-of-the-pack efforts in the autonomous vehicle realm.
We'll bring you more info as it becomes available.
