Nissan 350z side mirror installation

does the door panel have to come off to install new side mirror on the 350z?...had a friend knock off my pass side mirror and bought a new one from dealer but they want to charge me $100 to install it!!!!!!....can i just install myself, i mean is it simply...i dont want to brake anything in the process but the dealer is so expensive.....how do i install....plzzz help.....many thanks!!!!

If you have the power mirrors make sure you don't break the wires. Not really sure on how it comes off though. If your friends with a nissan mechanic ask them.

i dont remember if you have to takke the door panel off or not, either way its not bad at all to take off, you pop off the silver handel trim and there are 2 10mm screws inside, then pop off the window switch and there are 1 or 2 screws inside, then gently pull on the panel and it shud pop off, then there is a little triangular cover that covers 3 10mm nuts that hold the mirror on. unbolt those and disconnect you harness and then install everything back. the dealer changes 1 hour for this install i belive and at my dealership its at least $95.00 per hour of work
