Hi, all.

I was in LA some weeks back, to see if these Nissan 300ZX rims would work out well for my Q. I went to the guy's place and and decided not to buy them. I'd recommend that you all be careful too. They are all 8.5" rear rims, and very tempting, but ...

The rims have been spray painted (!) a silver-gray color on the front, somewhat poorly, and at least one of the wheels needs to have it done again. If you do get these wheels, you need to strip the paint and have them done right. Or chromed, or something.

Plus, the price is high. He originally wanted $600 on his first eBay auction. This is high for these rims, IMHO, and the current one appears to be his third re-list since they are not selling. But, again, it is up to you to decide what you wanna do. Just check them out thoroughly first!

Not a bad project for someone who wanted them chromed (as long as they're straight and true).

Hmmmm.... *checks budget for spare $1000 then hangs head in disappointment* :(

I could not tell whether they were true or not! There is a Discount Tire place literally 1/2 mile from his house (on Topanga Canyon Road in Canoga Park), but the seller was not willing to come with me to spin them up and check them out before I bought.

He has a 300ZX (I forget whether it was Turbo or not) and has nice new after-market wheels on it. I wonder if he damaged these ones ... naw, I should not speculate like that.

If you want a set of these wheels (I use a set and they work great for me), take a look at your local 300ZX specialty shop. They tend to have stacks of them. The twin turbo guys throw them away like litter.

When I got mine, I got to select from 16 wheels and they spun them up for me. A good $400 investment.

OBTW, all 16 of them were still round. These are pretty tough wheels.
