Hi I searched for a thread relatign this issue but I could not find one. On my 300zx drivers side the seat is broken. The power swtich only works for up and tilt, but it will not move the seat left and right. How can I mannualy move the seat closer to the wheel, and how much would it cost to fix the seat ?? Could someone provide me with a sep by step picture guide on how to move the seat. Thank you

to remove the seat simply unbolt the 4 corners fo the seat the trick is trying to get to all 4 without moving the seat, you might want to try openign the swithc panel and try cleaning the contacks to switching out the control switches, there is no manual way to adjust the seat

if the switch is broken i would suggest buying a new one hooking it up to the plugs. that way you can move the seat to unbolt it and then install the switch to the seat and reinstall. it is not a hard task i just installed an electric seat in my car that didnt come with an electric seat. but first do clean the connection and make sure everything is plugged in all the way good luck

ah, can I swap the drivers seat with the passenger seat so I can at least adjust the seat and never worry about the power switch breaking ?? will the opposite seats fit ?? I imagine so though

if it is the switch i would just change it, its 2 screws and 2 connectors very simple job. but like stated above twice check the connections it might be something stupid that will save you the hassel of taking the seat out.

The cheapest switch I could find was 90 dollars. I hate how my forward backward doesnt work, but up and down does. Can anyone give me a link to a cheap working switch.

hi guys, i just got a 300zx 1994 today. One of the problem i noticed is the passenger side power switch. The seat will go forward, but not backward. The other switch is doing similar thing. The tilt would go forward and not back. Is this a typical switch problem ? If it is, then i simply go find another one. But i hate to buy it and to find out it is not the problem.

i noticed the two screws on the side of the switch; it's the only two screws i need to remove, right ?

thanks for any tips. It's my first day with my new car ... happy and excited...

Hello I have a 1984 Nissan 300zx. The driver's seat was not moving forward except on the right side, so i decided to remove the seat to find out what the issue was. It was a pain in the butt to get the back left bolt out it takes a little bit of playing around to get it out. All four bolts were 9/16 in. The front two came out quick. The right back was easy because i just used the motor to go forward and used a shallow socket to get it out. The back left bolt get a 9/16 in wrench and move the seat around at different angles to get it out. Once i had removed the seat from the car i found a mechanical wire much like a mechanical speedometer wire busted and wound up on its self. I hope that helps with the issue. Does anyone know what the part # is on that mechanical wire?

i am having a similar problem right now with my power driver's seat on my 94 300 TT. all the directions work except the backrest leaning forward, so i have a small clean garbage bin behind the seat to support it lol. i took apart the switch box on the side of the seat, and it is heavily corroded by some brown sticky substance and what appears to be battery acid. i'm going to attempt cleaning it with some vinegar and an old toothbrush. it *should* fix it. also, be careful when taking apart the switch box, as there are 2 ball bearings, 2 large springs, 8 small springs, and 8 little pins. i would recommend taking off the mount for it, turning it upside down, then taking off the cover. hope this helps.
