hey guys -- i need your brains -- illinois has a new emissions law -- any once legal car older than '96 doesn't have to be emission tested anymore -- my last z had straight pipes -- made a big difference and were moderately inexpensive -- specialtyz - $460, plus an hour of labor, AMZ cutouts are ~$360 but i assume it would take at least 3 hours labor with the cutting, welding, wiring etc -- but would be good for the environment when i am not playing -- is the HP gain of the cutouts worth the hassle ?? tell me what you think

on a N/A I don't think you'll see any real gain from the cutouts, heck might even loose horespoer due to loss of exhaust scavaging, it might seem faster but really it's just louder, a good quality system has very litte resistance as is and is tuned to get as much power as they could

not on an na, your car is just going to be loud as funk! only way you would bennifit from this would be if it was a tt pushing alot of boost.
