I need some help from anyone and everyone that has a Nissan with side feed JECS injectors and that can easily look at the part number on the top of the injector. I have recently had a failure of one in my 1992 300zx Twin Turbo. After removing the intake plenum to get to the injectors, I found out that these injectors don't seem to follow the typical color codes. Most people around the internet claim that the top of the injector tells what flow rate it has, but it seems that JECS may not follow this practice. There is a part number on the top of the injector, which is 4 digits followed by 5 digits. The first 4 are what seems to be the part number, and the second a batch code. I have found this website: http://www.injectorservices.com/injectflow.htm which lists a bunch of part #'s and the OHM reading and flow rates (JECS is a little more than half way down the page). So what I want to do is confirm that the part number, and not the color is the correct identification for these injectors. If you have JECS injectors, and can get to read the part #'s from the tops, please let me know what you have. Here is what I have, and why the color codes don't make sense.
1M51 1Z07D 370cc/min light brown1M51 5715D 370cc/min olive green1M51 9818D 370cc/min grey (may be faded black)
Assuming that the previous owner replaced two of the injectors, there is signs on the intake plenum that this was done, and hopefully replaced them with the correct size injectors. It seems that the different batches have different color tops, I have four of the light brown color, and one each of the others. I know that late '94-'96 had different style injectors, pintle-less, so I expect them to have a different part #. Any help will be greatly appreciated, and hopefully documented somewhere for anyone in the future to reference. I will consolidate all responses.
Thanks!
