I recently bought a 1990 300zx na and I am currently in the process of getting it running properly. In my search i came across a pop charger and wanted to know what the advantage of having one is instead of the stock intake box? is it really better?
thanks

On a NA it will do more for throttle response than actual peak HP but for the price it is probably the best upgrade available to the VG30DE.

okay, thank you. I read on some other posts and people were worried that it could suck water more easily is that a problem to be concerned with? obviously wouldn't be driving it in a lake or flood or anything like that, but it sounded like it was more splashed up water

Pop chargers draw air still from under the hood like the stock equipment, so water isn't any more of an issue than it was before installed. Whomever you were talking to was obviously confused. They do make extensions that put the filter outside in the bumper, but it's not the same thing at all.

Anyway, really, all it's going to do is make the engine rev a little louder and maybe it will feel a tiny bit different. I would personally save up and get a nice exhaust first.
