ive been to many of those races. gt1-5, spec racer ford, star mazda, spec miata, american sedan, etc. all race on the same weekends. the gt3 races look so pitiful in comparison to the gt1 cars. ive talked to most of the 240sx guys and always root for them

They are all using non EFI KA24s ... EFI isn't allowed thus the VQ35DE and KA24DE aren't allowed.

It's a KA24E ---> KA24i

so...what class allows EFI, like, just basically semi stock cars from the street.

and thats pretty cool about the KA24i engines. i'd like to see a built up ITB'd engine. pretty neato-mesquito

For national classes: E ProductionEP cars are street cars that have been modified for racing with full cages, modified suspension points and lightened body panels. The motors can be fully modified as well (pretty much the sky's the limit)For regional classes: Improved Touring "S" and Improved touring "A" (ITS and ITA)Improved touring S cars are the 16 valve cars (91-on) ITA cars are the single cam 12 valve cars (89-90).IT cars can be basically street cars with a cage and racing seat. Modifications are limited to balance and blueprint of the engine, changing suspension, add header, change computer, etc. Body panels and brake sizes have to to remain stock.

probably because the vq (or a carb'd version of it) is too heavy and the 4cyl is capable of the desired hp.
