Nissan 240sx---Venting issue

I have a 1989 nissan 240sx. The air is blowing nicely but only from the face vents. If I select defroster or floor there is no difference where the air is blowing from. I get cool or hot air but I just cant control where it is blowing from. Any suggestions on what this might be? Thanks for your time.

Your control panel thing might be broke?

Its either the havc unit or the mode door motor. Both are easy to replace, find, and are pretty cheap. I think I have both email me if you want them.

hey there is a little plug in the back of the unit. If it gets unplugged you cant switch fans. had the same problem when i installed a stereo in my car. its really a pain in the a$$ to get to unless you pull it out.

It's probably something dumb like that plug Martins_240sx was talking about. I noticed mine was unplugged when I got my shell.
