Nissan 240sx Stuck In 2nd Gear

I HAVE A 1995 NISSAN 240SX AND IT SEEMS TO BE STUCK ON 2ND GEAR FROM START IT WONT CHANGE FROM 2ND TO 3RD OR WONT START FROM 1ST.I GOT A CODE P1605 ABOUT THE A/T Dignosis Communication line.I have checked for continuity between the a/t control unit and the ecm and it has continuity i checked the harness and pins they seem fine.I messed a little with the tps but not to much since it runs fine just in one gear.ANY HELP WILL HELP ME OUT PLEASE IF ANYONE HAS GONE THRU THIS LET ME KNOW WHAT WAS THE FIX.I have also replaced the transmission since i got it at a good price from a friend.And the problem was there even with the other transmission that was the original one.

just pin point me were to start and check i have replaced the transmission and i do get a code p1605 i have checked for continuity from the a/t control unit and the ecm and i got continuity but the car is stuck like in 2nd gear only.no matter how fast i go its on the same gear seems like 2nd gear.
