I had a something like that happen to mine ( also a circle track 240 ) The clutch didn't have enough freeplay, the throwout bearing stayed in contact with the pressure plate fingers. The throwout bearing eventually locked up and seized on the input sleeve. The small explosion actually put a small hole in the bellhousing. On the next trany I put a return spring on the clutch arm to assist the slave cylinder return.
Kenny, get on Lonesome Pine Raceway's web site. We have a big race later this year, $1000 to win if we have over 40 cars. The class is Pure 4 if you want to check the rules. It's a long pull, but I pulled to Orange Co. in 2006 to race in the Mod Mini Madness races (and won) They might still remember the old beat up gray 240 that was running 2nd when the local car running 1st place had to drop out with a bad tire.Come on over, and tell your local racers.
