Nissan 2012 Pathfinder tappit / liffter noise

I have a 2012 Pathfinder and need some advice from some experienced ppl.

Recently I have heard a knocking / tappets/ lifters coming from the engine 2.5 l Diesel R51, the engine has only done 50,000 km

It is not necessarily on start-up but intermittent. It’s becoming louder and more prominent. Yesterday it appeared again after doing two hours’ freeway work and then as soon as I came off from lights.

My guess would be that an oil gallery clogs not feeding the rocker, but this is my Nissan and would like to problem shoot as cheaply as possible and would like to know if this is an inherant problem with the R51.

Any advice is welcome as I’m scared that this is going to be a non-warrantable issue and become two expensive for me.
