Nissan 1992 240sx timing

okay, so i need some confirmation on the timing on my friend's ka24de.

motor's set at TDC...would it be fine if i just set the cams with the lobes for cylinder 1 facing horizontally outwards from the middle of the motor?

and does it matter if the idler shaft/tensioner isnt completely perfect according to the fsm, but is very close and all of the chains fit fine?

Everything needs to be dead on in order for the car to run correctly and if it's not, there is a possibility of damaging the engine.
