Hi,

I drive a 1986 5 Speed Nissan 1400 Pick-up Truck. It's an absolute workhorse and has never let me down. Services are always regular. This morning for no reason I had been driving for about 20 minutes when I felt the engine power start to drop and the engine started to splutter a bit. I was driving at about 80kmh in 5th gear with nothing unusual to every othere morning. It felt like a fuel issue, so I depressed the clutch fully and gave it some revs and it picked up fine. The same thing happed about 5 minutes later, but that was the last time for the rest of the 30 minute journey.

Could it be a fuel pump issue or what ? Has this happened to anyone else ?

Thanks,Dave

start with the basics, make sure your air filter is clean and you have a fairly new fuel filter, you could also check the connection to the fuel pump. try driving it around a little, see if there is anything else that happens when it loses power or if you can get it to happen again.
