I have the same impossible to remove water spots.... until tonight!

Get a brand new razor blade. After the glass is super clean, use the blade to remove the water spots. Change the blade you are using a lot, so as to not take any chances of scratching the glass.

After the spots are gone, clean with window cleaner, and look at how clear they are!

I also found a window cleaner by "Griot's Garage" and it has a high alcohol content, and dries streak free. Cleans really well!

That's funny you bring that up Noah.

I was talking to a guy who does detailing work at my dealership, and asked him how to get rid of them. He said he's used Go-Jo (orange hand cleaner) before. Haven't tried it, so I couldn't tell you if it works or not.

Looks like I'll probably be buying a box or razor blades before NOPI.

What??? It didn't work???Dude, that sucks. Only other thing that I can think of is to soak a towel in some reverse osmosis water, and lay that on the glass. The reverse osmosis water will not have any minerals in it, so it will work like a sponge to pull the minerals from the spots.

I think that could work, since that is basically how they decaffeinate coffee. http://www.swisswater.com/decaf/process

Hope that may help.

I think after doing some reading, that your water spots are etched into the glass. Here is an article that looks informative.
