Hey i was just lookin around at some different parts and just noticed that across the board with maybe the exception of there headers nismo parts tend to make less horsepower than other aftermarket parts why is that shouldnt nismo make 350Z parts better than anyone?

nismo parts are inteded for street use and as far as I know are all 50 state legal, that being said, I think they try to keep from pushing too hard, and once they develop a part they are done, for many aftermarkets they make one part, then someone else makes a better version so it's time to re-engineer, nissan makes cars, trying to keep up with the aftermarket just isn't possible or practical

Agreed. Most auto makers, when they produce their own aftermarket bolt-on's are concerned with reliability #1, performance second. The NISMO exhaust for example is downright a work of art to all the senses.
