I have a Nissan Frontier and I was browsing Ebay and i saw a Nismo thermosat , radiator cap anD fuel injectors. While I'm all about putting every Nismo part I can onto my Nissan, I'd like to know what benefit , exactly, I'm getting from a thermostat, radiator cap and fuel injectors. Any help on this? I also love to learn the specifics of the different pats of my engine. Thanks

A Nismo thermostat basically opens at a lower temperature than a OE thermostat. This allows the engine to run in a cooler range. It may have a mild performance benefit, but may also require a lighter weight oil.

A Nismo radiator cap is designed to increase the pressure in the cooling system. Increased pressure increases the boiling point of the coolant allowing more efficient cooling under high temperatures. It will have no benefit unless your motor actually exceeds the boiling point of the fluid now. Also, as there is more pressure, it will put more stress on the parts. Any parts like the radiator, its hoses, the heater hoses and heater core that aren't in good shape may be compromised by the increased pressure.

Lastly, the fuel injectors, won't increase performance in any way shape or form by themselves. I'd assume they are larger injectors than the ones in your vehicle now and if so, the increased size only offers more benefit if you significantly increase the airflow through the motor. Typically, this is the case if you add some sort of forced induction. Its unlikely you will reach the limits of your stock injectors in naturally aspirated form. Larger injectors would also require a way to compensate otherwise, it will run quite rich.

As far as learning about engines, it might help to know which engine you have. The topic is a rather broad one though (There are thick books that can't possibly explain everything), so you may wan t learn about engines in general and then look towards learning about your motor. There are also engine specific forums within NICO as well that you can browse through and learn from. If you have some more specific questions, feel free to ask, we are more than happy to help.
