There is all this talk about NISMO coming to the US and I read the article on Fresh alloy. Guys in sport compact car are sporting the Nismo LMGT4 Rims and I cant find a price or availability on them. Whats with NISMO and how can such products have such big news and such little availability? Is this stuff gonna be readily available or just a tease?

From what I've read the Nismo stuff is not that hardcore. I mean its basically an upgraded OEM part compared to the aftermarket.

I saw some NISMO boxes ready to go out to customers at my local Nissan dealer. They have a catalog on the counter if I remember correctly. Didnt get a chance to take a look. I'd be pretty impressed to find the LMGT4 wheels or the NISMO SSS LSD. No matter how they bring it over, we always miss out on something from the Japanese producers.

NISMO is coming over here [2004 or -05 ish] i guess not too soon though. so it'll get more and more popular [or easily accessible] later on, but things are still tricky to find for now.

uhm "merely and upgraded oe part"

I think you're thinking of the US based version of nissan motorsports, not 'NISMO', which, believe it or not, are entirely different beings.

I dont think derlin bushings, and probably the most beefy strut braces, one of the worlds best LSD's, and host of other parts that most 'street cars' would find both noisey and unacceptable qualify as "merely upgraded oe".

look into it more. the japan spec NISMO stuff can get pretty hardcore.-chet

r34 is right..........

My local Nissan dealership can get anything from the new NISMO catalog and ALL of it looks great. In fact, I can't go back there now because I get pissed off when I realize that I can't afford even half the stuff that I want. Oh well, maybe when I graduate this Physics degree of mine will come in handy and earn me a couple of extra bucks...............
