I didnt have plans to get racing seats for a while yet.Atm my aim is to focus all my funds towards my drift focused RB20 swap, then coilovers, then a 2 Way...etc etc etc, then racing seats,I was leaning towards the corbeau FX1 seats due to their affordable priceand decent quality, but came across this nifty pair.Could get them for $450 with rails included.I was unable to find any info on these seats regarding their costnew and such. Think this deal is worth jumping on and posibly settin back my swapa lil later, or should i wait it out?

They're fake.

Cool, but fake.

And a little overpriced. Check ebay.

Is that driver side seat broken or am I just imagining it?

Those look like the ebay seats. I think they were $160 each or something around that price per seat.

Because we're experts.

There aren't any NISMO seats (that you or I could afford, anyway).

They're ebay cheap seats, with an embroidered logo.

Everything on the internet is a fact. So when they say it's an authentic NISMO seat, it's gotta be.

Lol true true...Can never be too sure when there second hand. Thanks for the info, i couldnt drag up a wholelot regarding nismo seats, didnt even get anythingon ebay. Fake or not though do you think theyd be worthit or should i just wait it out and stick to my originalplan of corbeaus? One minor concern i had was the weight...im not really too anal about uber weight reductionbut the FX1 definitely looks alot less bulky than these areand would probably hold me in a bit better for drifting.

Like I said, NISMO doesn't make seats.

Corbeaus are nice, but you don't need special seats to get started. The cheap ebay seats or stock S-chassis seats are fine for what you want to do...

Driver seat driver's side bolster is messed up. Likely fat person syndrom.

Thats what i thought...No wonder i couldnt find out any info on em.Thanks.And yeh im aware of that, thats why seats are currentlynear the bottom of my list of future parts.I just cant stand the stock s13 seats.

For sure fakes, i saw a set on ebay a few days ago. I liked the pricing on the Corbeaus also, but they are not FIA approved from what i have read. Any ideas on a decently priced seat that is FIA approved? Or a better question, at what point(scca and such?) would you need a FIA approved seat?

i would stick with a stock seat over an ebay one. unless you want a seat that break in the event of an accident and mostly injure you

I don't know about that. If he has s13 seats, then I would get something else because those seats are TERRIBLE.

be that as it may, oem seats are tested to be safe in the event of an accident and if they were known to cause injuries during an accident they would be recalled. ebay seats are not tested as rigorously if at all

...THE only legit Nismo seat that I have ever seen was a very limited run of a seat that came in some of the R34 GTR's...it seemed to just be a slightly higher bolstered stock R34 seat...I have had R34 seats in a couple of s13s that I have had...are the seat you posted pics of similar? or the same seats that Im talking about...

I heard that they never even really produced the ones that I saw, just sold them in some of the R34 Skylines...

sorry if I posted ignorant info, just what I thought...

its not ignorant, the nismo seats i have are old they were sold back in the day. I recently still saw them on my catalog, so i assume i can still get them they were ridiculous money like $1.5-2k per seat or something crazy. But they do make them. I know the R34 Nismo Z-tune had a type of nismo seats.

I know that there have been a few cars with "Nismo" seats from the factory but most are just embroidered patches and s***...the only legit ones I have seen were the Z-tune R34 I think...(Like you said)

...but I had never ever seen a aset for sale, which led me to believe that they were very very limited quantities of them ever made...The ones I sat in were dope but the guy wouldnt sell them...they were like reclinable bucket, major bolsters and very sturdy...

I bought Brides personally..

I personally would NEVER buy seats without sitting in them first, otherwise how do you know they will fit your needs? I especially would not spend $450+ on seats without testing that s*** first.

My 2 cents

He was asking opinions on the price... That's a legit reason if you ask me.

Those seats are absolute CRAP. I had a pair in my s13 that the previous owner put it. They are cheap junk. And I would not even consider them safe. They also fit like crap in the car. They are too wide and too high (unless you fabricate your own custom brackets). There are no brackets I know of that will get these seats low enought to be comfortable. I eventually bought a set of used last gen Toyota Celica seats and put them in. They were awesome and safe. I've purchased many 'knock off' parts that worked fine for my cars but these fake seats suck. Let me say it again. THEY SUCK.
