Ive already used the search button and still can't find a straight answer for my questions. Is the Nissan motorsports r4 hi performance cam and the JWT Sohc cam straight drop-ins? Or do the need to be machined like the PDM c404 cams?

Thanks,Mark

I believe that they are drop ins, both jwt and nismo use billet cams blanks to start. Thats why they are so un-godly overpriced. This allows them to grind a profile, that uses a stock base circle diameter.

Only problem with reground cams is that if you go for a very high lift (like .080"+ being removed from bearing caps) your rocker arm angle is not so great, and valve spring retainer to rocker clearance is minimal. But regrinds are excellent up to about 305 degrees duration, .500 lift. I would not even consider a jwt or nismo cam personally.
