I like the stillen exhaust better. If you go on utube there are some clibs on there of both exhausts, that way you can hear and see them for yourself and decide.

I remember someone on the forums stated the nismo doesn't have any power gains.

Haven't heard the stillen exhaust but i have the nismo exhaust on my 3.5 and sounds great. It probably added around 8hp to my coupe and i feel the difference especially from a stand still.

Well I have the Nismo exhaust and all I can say is that it sounds awesome. The Stillen just seemed a little too quiet for me but to each his own. Here's an exhaust video of mine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHaYpZFdoqA

Personally I have the nismo and I love the sound of it. Also, there is a seller on eBay that offers the exhaust for $626 (including shipping) which is a great deal.

There is a ton of debate about exhausts; nismo, stillen, borla, etc.... just do a search in the upper right hand corner and I am sure you will find what your looking for

Ok, I've gone over all this before with a guy in my area. He asked which one he should get and of course I gave him my opinion based on my own ears hearing them all. Stillen is the quietest, Nismo is a step more aggressive with more volume and a deep tone. And after that I told him I had a Borla which has much more of a night and day "gurgle" when compared to the others, more flattering to the v6. Keep in mind the others all have resonators on their exhausts, the Borla bolts up the axel flange with no resonator on the factory midpipe. I used to be the same way with the catback thing but in all honesties you can get the sound plus the performance once you make a midpipe.

The thing I can never get is how any catback will make any more power when nothing on the factory midpipe is really that restrictive besides the funky squishes, which probably plays a bit of a role. You still have the same amount of air coming through the cats. If performance is really big to you, look at Artisan… I believe they have straight pipes, not sure though.

But to answer your question between the two exhaust, get the Nismo. Good luck.

I have checked multiple videos of various exhausts and I think I am set on the Nismo one. However I am not going to take the videos as actual sound, I have heard some in person and they have differences in sound.

If anyone can throw out some comparisons with the Stillen and Nismo cat backs compared to the stock exhaust note that would be wonderful...

(don't know if this counts as thread jacking but if it is, I'm sorry)

Stillen < Nismo

But it's going to be interesting to see how much the sound will change and what will sound right once we start altering the cats ect.

Anyone know what this sounds like with the CVT? I'm looking to get the NISMO cat back system, but wondering how it'll sound when you hammer on it and the transmission doesn't shift. Any ideas if it is worth getting for the 3.5 CVT? Thanks

Borla on a 2.5 wouldnt be the same, remember he said 2.5, i think its between the nismo, stillen, greddy, and artisan there all very close but nismo i think sounds the best, borlas only for the V6.

Nismo does not have a resonator (at least not on my 3.5SE Sedan) There is a bend but the pipe diamater widens to compensate so there is no loss of flow.
