Just installed my NISMO mounts last weekend and it is like driving a new car. My engine used to shake like around like a mother and no it's rock solid. The car doesn't shake when I launch and everything just feels smoother.

I Highly reccomend these mounts!

what's the install like? I'm putting in my SR this weekend, but with everything else I bought, motor mounts weren't in the install budget, so I'm going to do it in another month.

Easy? please don't tell me you had to pull the motor....

u have to get enough clearance to get the old mounts out, so u have to pull the motor a little bit

I have Kazama mounts in my car. They are about a billion times beefier then the stock copy Nismo mounts.

Otherwise swapping the mounts is simple with the motor out. However, with the motor in you either need to pull it out a bit to make room to get the old mounts out, or drop the front crossmember...Either way it's a pain, but definitely worth the effort if your old mounts are shot.

could you just jack up the motor from below?

I highly doubt you would have enough clearance without actually taking the motor half way out or dropping the front crossmember. The studs on the mounts are at least half an inch long or more on each side. So, that's over an inch of clearence you need to unbolt them from top and bottom and pull them out.

So this mounts will stop or at least lessen the diesel truck shaking i have now with my KA? If so, when i swap. i'll definatly jump on them.

you are gonna have one hell of a time changing the mounts after you put the motor in.

i found it easier to unbolt the bracket on the passenger side of the sr20 that the motor mount mounts to, and connect the mount and that bracket to the cross member before i put the motor in, then reconnect the bracket to the car. on the drivers side i just connected the motor mount to the motor before i dropped it in.

you dont NEED new mounts, what some people do is stuff the old mounts with polyurethane, which wont wear out like the nismo rubber ones, plus i think it can be done with the mounts installed.

Arn't the Nismo ones made of Derlin? Derlin being stronger than polyurethane...i doubt they're gonna wear like rubber ones...

Anyone taken a close look at the Nismo mounts? They are basically stock mounts with stronger rubber, if that. And no they are not made out of delrin...

I have the Kazama engine mounts and a Nismo transmission mount. I don't remember where I got the Kazama mounts I ordered them a long time ago, and I got the Nismo mount from a local dealer. I love the Kazama mounts, they are made from poly bushings and fat metal with big bolts basically. I notice more chassis chatter at idle, but I also have no interior at the moment...so everything is louder and it's hard to tell. Anyways I have no engine or transmission shake, launches and acceleration are silky smooth. However, the transmission mount is so-so in my opinion. I'm not too impressed with it right now. For some reason the mount aligned the transmission about 1/2" to the right on the transmission brace...Everything is installed correctly, I'm not a retard. So, maybe I just got a strangely built mount or then again Nismo sucks...oh well. I think I'll get that poly Uras transmission mount and install it when I'm doing my testpipe later.

After reading this thread on the Nismo mounts and there rock-solid engine abilities, I am starting to wonder on whether or not I have Nismo mounts. My motor vibrates a little under idle and moves a couple of inches while revving it up. Afterdark did the install and SUPPOSEDLY put the mounts in, but alas the movements would suggest otherwise. Are there any identifying marks or anything that I could easily tell if my engine mounts and transmission mount were of the Nismo variety, without pulling the motor? Thanks in advance.

No, they look identical to stock mounts. Depending on how long ago they were "installed" and if they really are new, you should see shiny black mounts sitting right there (at least theoretically).

Not really sure how much of this thread you read...but I already said Nismo mounts look identical and perform and most likely are just hyped up stock mounts. The rubber might be slightly "stronger" but the motor mounts are filled with the same goo like stock mounts.

And you have to realize if you replace the stock mounts and notice an improvement, well duh. You just put a new part in place of an old part :rolleyes.

Or you could always buy a piece of strong wood to make mounts out of. :P

OR get some thick metal have one stud on each side thus resulting in ZERO flex!

Window welding is very DSM of you! I just jaced up the motor by the oil pan and easily enough clearance to cram them in there.

!!!!!

please tell me you at least put a wood board in between to disperse the pressure across the whole pan. dont want any SR's driving around with pinched off oil pickups :)

Anyone looking for Nismo mounts at a decent price needs to go here: http://www.courtesyparts.com/n....html By far the cheapest I have seen them at only $208.34 for the complete set.
