Nismo motor mounts?

I'm using Nismo motor mounts on my 91'(ka) and my tanabe strut bar was touching my motor so I thought it was the wrong strut bar, then my buddy brings his 91' 240 over and when we parked side by side and popped the hoods I noticed that my motor sits about 1/2 inch higher than his motor. Is it because of the Nismo mounts, or could the mounts be installed on the wrong sides?

i would blame the mounts unless he has the same ones. consider stacking a washer or two between the strut bar and it's contact point on each side if you're looking for a quick fix.

unfortunately it is the mounts. i have the nismo's on my car and ran into the same problem. fortunately for me i have access to a machine shop and moded my strut bar by just fabbing spacers out of some 1/2" thick scrap metal laying around then welded them to the bar.

Search, search, search. This topic has been covered many times. Some people say its because stock mounts are so worm that when the stiffer NISMO mounts are used the engine will sit higher. Read and find out..there is a super thread on this very subject. You may have the wrong mounts. Do not quote me on this, but I think I remember reading that the NISMO CA mounts and the NISMO Sr20 mounts are different heights.

I have the Nismo mounts and an Apexi strut bar. After I put thick washers between the bar and the strut tower I have just enough clearance. Luckily the Nismo mounts are stiff enough not to allow the engine to move and hit the bar.

I used brand new Nismo mounts. no fitment issues at all, perfect
