nismo lsd clunking?

So, i test drove a 240 tonight and they guy told me it has a nismo stage 2 lsd, i think he said 1.5way. When you first take off and do a slow turn like in a parking lot it makes a pretty bad clunking in the back. He told me it was the diff and nismo diffs do it and its normal. True?

i think its the normal thing for aftermarket lsds to be loud.

Not sure it just clunks pretty loud when turning slowly. It works well though. It just makes the clunking at low speed turns.

No, clutch LSD's are horrendously loud most of the time, although often from improper installation. I've noticed alot of the 240 noobs just looking to drift don't know how to properly set shim bases and backlash, causing alot of extra noise.

So, would this cause the lsd to wear out quickly or break anyway or is it just something to deal with?

metal clutch type lsds like the nismo, kaaz, ats etc work hard, get hot, and need to get overhauled depending on how hard it gets driven maybe every 2 years if it's basically used for street most of the time.

yeah they're really loud though. getting out of a grocery store or something especially with a beat up looking 240 everyone will think you're a cheap *** with a crappy car that's falling apart...

in addition to that lsd try a car without a cat/aftermarket manifold/exhaust, plus wild cams and a goofy sounding blow off valve... people will think your car is a tractor

ive been in a car with nismo lsd... they're not even that loud...

kaaz and tomei are monsters though
