JBSR... there is no such thing as a rear wheel drive Bluebird motor. The Bluebird is a Nissan Altima, the S.S.S version came with the SR20DET and ATTESSA AWD. There is no possible way to cheaply install the engine and there is no reason you should be persueing to have the shop install this motor.

1. The shop does not know what they are doing2. The shop knows absolutely nothing about Nissan 3. They know nothing about your make

sorry i havent replied in so long but i have been out of town in iowa for business. I thought dude said bluebird at first but when i called him back he said the motor was out of a 180, rps13 i think. its been so long i cant remember what he said, but i am going to his shop and checking out some of the work they have done. Plus i want to check out their skyline. I thought there was only like 12 or 13 in the entire US so i wouldnt mind seeing one.

As far as being critical about their work they said they would convert the ignition from coil packs to a distributor. Obviously the performance will be somewhat less but how much? Really noticeable or not that much. Anything else i should be looking for.

thats just more time that they work on the car = more $ for them. the coil pack is an advanced piece of technology, distributor system gives u an easier way to upgrade the ignition system, but overall its not really that much better

All I know is we agreed on the labor and the motor for 2300. I also know they specialize in Nissan. The only other shop I would trust would charge me 5000!

I totally know what you mean. You get what you pay for. I believe their reasoning is they all have full time jobs anyway and they put all their money back into the business, i.e. tools, lifts, etc.
