Do you know what the range of adjustment on that MSD is? One of the ports looks pretty weird on it...I'm asuming that needle looking screw screws into where the nut is on the regulator to accept a vacuu source...

I think I may just go for the bling and get the nice aeromotive unit--I really like the idea of being able to screw a gauge right into the regulator, which couldn't be done with the MSD.

True...you'd need a seperate inline gauge. The "weird" lookin port is for vacuum. I don't know what the range of the unit is though. I haven't even tried mine yet. I'll let ya know either way.

UPDATE--

I was just about to order that expensive $62 JUN fitting and my dad was like "save your money, I can make one pretty easily," and I guess he was really bored today, because when I came home, he had a fitting all made up, using the other fuel rail I have lying around to get measurements, etc....I'm so glad I have a dad who loves working with metal :)

I'm also pretty fortunate to have a very nice lathe right in the work shop.

The piece that actually will sit in the fuel rail with the o-ring was fabricated from scratch out of VERY hard steel, as was the metal flange that screws into the fuel rail; then everything was soldered together. Looks very nice, and I was shocked to just come home and see it sitting there!

I'm pretty sure i'm going to be going with the Aeromotive adjustable fuel pressure regulator, but the one I want has 2 inlets, one outlet, so one of the ports will need to be plugged, and I need to buy fittings for the 6AN inlets/outlets so that there is a barb on the end as to just run regular hose.

The reason I'm weary of aeromotive is because their stuff is all for high horsepower applications--and I hope that the fuel delivery wouldn't be any more inconsistent at lower power/flow levels if it was designed for such power.

I'll keep ya guys posted.

good deal, see it really isnt all that complicated to make eh? i would have went with aluminum but oh well itll work. and the aeromotive unit will work just fine. you can most likely go to ACE and get the fittings you need for it. and jegs is probably your best bet price wise or ebay.

Aluminum would have been a lot harder to work with and to solder.

Not to mention, aluminum elbow fittings like the one we used to screw the barb into are NOT easily available at all.....

And the aeromotive FPR has -6an aeromotive male fittings--which are NOT available at hardware stores. I had to buy pretty specialized fittings, one that screwed onto the -6an fitting and had a 5/16" hose barb on the end, one straight one, one 90 degree one. Those little fittings are damn expensive too. Good thing I'm not going full stainless steel for this...

I ended up buying the aeromotive 1000-6 unit, 30-70 psi adjustable (rated with no vacuum, no boost, so I could conceivably lower my fuel pressure by 13 psi, even though I'll never go down that low), and a liquid filled gauge to screw into the 1/8" NPT port on it....one inlet has to be plugged, but otherwise it should be good. Got the FPR for $130, the gauge for $30, the fittings were ~$20. Should have it installed this weekend.

I'll post pics when it's done.
