I did a search and there was talk of a "universal fit" Nismo FPR and a "CA specific" unit with a specific flange that bolts to the CA fuel rail. My question is this; since the RB series engine is similar to the CA.....will an RB Nismo FPR be "plug and play" just as the CA specific FPR would?

Second question;

If I have an ECU tuned for 440cc/Zmaf/uprated fuel pump/etc and if I get the Nismo FPR......will the engine run too rich?

What (approximately) would the new FPR push the injectors to?.......500cc maybe?......because I'll be using DSM 450cc's......and if the injectors are pushed to 500cc then wouldnt it make sense (theoretically) to have the ECU tuned for 500cc then? (although I do realize that is a nonstandard "cc" value). If I used an SAFC (w/ the Nismo FPR) to pinpoint the fuel tuning....would I set the SAFC for 500cc then?

thanks ahead of time,

-Matt

dont quote me on these (im sure sumone more experianced will chime in any minute) but if im not mistaken the rb one works

as for the fpr...its only gonna push the injectors to 500 if u raise the fuel pressure...it all depends on what u want it for...alotta of people get the fpr to help deal w/ the rich condition that the walbro pump already gives most 240s

Yes! The RB one works. My friend brought an RB26 FPR back from Japan and it bolted right up to my rail. The outlet is just in a different direction so you need like a 5" piece of fuel hose to connect it. No big deal....

So I'm guessing the "universal" unit is on the right hand side here?

Does the unit on the left look like it would work for the CA fuel rail?? Most of the Nismo FPR's I see on ebay look like one or the other.

thanks,

-Matt

you want the one on the left with the 2-bolt flange....

First of all, don't get the FPR so that you can increas the fuel pressure over stock to compensate for undersized injectors. You're asking for trouble and will have no sympathy from me if you blow your stuff up. I'm not accusing you, but increasing fuel pressure to compensate for inadequate injectors is foolish and wasteful. If the DSM injectors don't cut, it get bigger ones.

Secondly, the adjustability of the NISMO unit will allow you to not only raise, but lower the fuel pressure. As was stated earlier, most people get them to correct over pressure problems associated with the walbro unit. The FPR will allow you to adjust the fuel pressure back to the reccomended 36.6psi (IIRC) that is stated in the FSM.

Once again, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, don't get this so that you can bump the fuel pressure up to 50psi because you think your injectors are too small!

Oh, and no, you'll set the SAFC for 450cc injectors and set the fuel pressure at 36.6psi (IIRC) relative.

Would either unit be a 1:1 rate regulator (7psi turbo, 43.6 fuel psi)??Are the regulators capable of flowing MORE fuel, thus allowing the high volume walbro units to maintain the stock fuel pressures (stock is too restrictive, therefore higher fuel pressures)??

Yes, that's the purpose of it. When you run a pump like the walbro255hp, the pump flows more than the regulator can pass through, so you get excessive pressure in the rail. The adj FPR solves this.
