I was looking at the 2007 altima sedan nismo cat back exhausts and they seem to be fairly cheap.. 600$.

They give the car a very nice tone as well.. i remeber reading somewhere on the forums that the nismo exhuast would be reallly expensive around 800-1000.

Anyone got answers?

The cheapest I've seen it on ebay was $787 or something like that. Do you have a link because I'll seriously order it if it's only $600.

Im getting either the Nismo or the Stillen exhausts after the winter. Im leaning towards Nismo, just really wish i could have some video footage on an 08 3.5 coupe. Or atleast a soundfile...Any ideas?

I know this may be a little off topic but the fact that the Nismo exhaust has that flat portion really annoys me. That's why i'm waiting for Stillen's, hoping it won't have it.

The small indentation on the mid-pipe? Thats there for clearance reasons. Chances are all of them will have it. When I saw pictures of the Borla that was installed on adidas' car that had it as well. Take a look at the undercarriage shots, you'll see what I mean.

Well if it is truly a clearance thing and there is no way around it, that is a completely different issue.

Check on youtube fora 2007 3.5L Altima with nismo catback exhaust, the sounds will be exactly similar.. Im 99.9% sure the engines are the exact same from last year and this year.

Also, the 350z is more similar in sound, although not as good as the 07 altima for test purposes.

It sounds nnniicee!

Nah the engine's aren't exactly the same. They used somewhere around 35% new parts and I think some of those new parts are from the VQ35HR (I'm too lazy to get the link). There's no way they got 30+ more hp from 06 (old SAE) from the same VQ which was only 10 more than the 02's

Back on topic Stillen and Nismo exhausts both have a drone @ around 2k~2500RPM's. I'm waiting until Mossy comes out with something IMO they have one of the best sounding exhausts out there for the 3rd gen.

The flat spot on the midpipe on the 3.5 sedans have been removed with the stillen exhaust as opposed to the oem setup.....

I thought that I had seen that hence my earlier comment. Guess we will see when the 3.5 coupe exhaust comes out.

Dexion, I think he meant the 07 and 08 Altimas use the same engine, which is true... but yes, the '07/'08 VQ is different from the '06 version!

mynismo has ridiculous shipping prices. I asked them for some quotes and I ended up giving them the .net middle finger.

You might want to keep an eye on on berk technology's web sites. They are giving killer deals on the nismo exhaust for the 3rd gen altima. They might pick up the 4th gen exhaust eventually when the 4th gen communities are more developed. Try contacting them about it.

Thats probably it but I've gotten MUCH lower shipping costs from other sellers. I expect high shipping living in Hawaii, but holy crap....mynismo just wants to make a quick buck (more like an extra $50) out of it.

i spoke with the service manager at bankston nissan of dallas and he told me if you purchase the nismo exhaust from any private seller under any circumstance nissan would not accept warrant claims for the product, and if it causes any other damages to your car you, not nissan will be held accountable. some sellers say they'll cover the warranty the same as if you got it from nissan, but that's for you to decide if you wanna trust a ebay seller. also, if it is installed by anyone other than a nissan tech. and any problems (really anything, like a defect) your SOL on the whole thing. just a little something something to take into consideration before buying and installing the nismo or any other after market exhaust.

As long as you got a genuine nismo part, and you do the install correctly, nissan will never know that you didn't buy it form them or didn't have one of their techs install it.
