How in the heck is 8000 miles a lot for something that will last well over 100,000 miles.
Thanks for everyone's input, but NOBODY has answered the simple question of what is the DIFFERENCE. You know why nobody has answered the question, because there is NO DIFFERENCE! You put my exhaust next to a new one, it will look, perform, and sound the EXACT same.
well as far as the actual item goes, it would still pretty much do the same job that it should, new or used (unless there's warpage, holes, or any other unnecessary damage to the piping that may have occurred while driving).
but i don't think the issue is the purpose it serves, we know well what an exhaust does, the issue is the fact that it is used, simple and plain as that. if i were purchasing a used item, i would think that i'm taking a risk (in terms of quality and previous usage) and therefore think that the seller should make it worth my while to purchase something they used.
even in terms of the market, we have individuals selling their nismos or stillens, with less miles and for cheaper... how would you be able to compete to sell your item when clearly it seems more feasible to take less of a risk with these cheaper less used items?
as i have stated before, try to sell at whichever price you feel comfortable, if it doesn't sell, you can adjust and go from there, if you decide that it's not worth it to drop in price, so be it, don't sell it. if you keep at current price and it sells, congrats you sold an overpriced used hunk of worthless metal (i'm kidding). last thing you want to do to further mar yourself is not do your homework but get upset when everyone else has done theirs.
