why is the exhaust flat like that in the middle? its like that with the nismo catback also. i imagine that is a lot of restriction.

I had posted this question when I bought my Nismo Exhaust and was told it was a clearance bend. The OEM exhaust has it to but I am not sure why, It looks like there is plenty of room if it wasn't flattened out.

I think it was for clearance "issues," but i think it was more to keep things level on the bottom... maybe they were thinking ahead and figured most people would lower their cars anyway...

but that wouldnt be the lowest part of the exhaust anyway. i dont understand. im sure theres a reason but i dont know what it is.

stillen catback has the same flatspot, pretty sure its for clearance

nope it's not for clearance, when I had the artisan exhaust it used bigger pipping and it didn't had the bend. the bend is there for backpressure
