NISMO ALTIMA?

I think it would be great if they made a 2008/2009 nismo altima. any body know the chance that this would happen?

It seems likely that they would come out with a new SE-R model since the body revamp, and typically that happens about 2 years (or more) after the new model came out.

I asked Nismo about it and they didn't have a specific time frame, but they did say they are working on updating all the Nismo parts for the new model series. Once they have all the parts, you just need to put them on an Altima, and voila you have your SE-R :-)

My guess is early 2009 at best, but it doesn't hurt to keep wishing for it :-)

The SE-R badging was always reserved for the Sentra in the past with the exception of the 05-06 model year Altima's. The reason why Nissan decided to make an SE-R version of the Altima was to help boost sagging sales. With sales of the current Altima's, both coupe and sedan, doing so well, I don't think we'll see an SE-R version anytime soon. In fact, I'd say that we will no longer see the SE-R badging on any other Nissan except for the Sentra. I believe Nissan found what they were looking for with the coupe.
