I have a nismo air intake on my 04 sentra spec v. It has been on there awhile and it has broken in half. Where it had broken is where the baffles are. I am calling them baffles because I honestly have no idea what they are for. it is the part with the foam covering. I was seeing if I was able to get rid of that (baffle) part and mod it a little bit. Would that be Ok or would it not work correctly.

The by pass broke? Im a little unsure of what you're talking about. Could you possibly post pics?

That sounds like the water bypass or whatever term you want to use. Basically, if you sunk the filter in a puddle it'd pull air from there instead of pulling in water.

It seems odd that it would break unless the intake wasn't mounted correctly.

You don't need it, if it is what I described. It's in the engine bay, right? Not on the end? Post a picture if you can.

First time trying to post here so lets see how this works. The "baffles" I am talking about is the orange part behind the battery. I was thinking of taking that part off and then just getting some 3 inch tubing to link them back together. Whatcha think?

Yep, that's your water bypass valve.

If you're not worried about hitting a huge puddle, go ahead and just have some pipe there instead. I've run without a bypass for years, even while lowered, and have yet to hit high enough water to cause any problems.

OK cool. Thanks so much for your help! (I'll be sure to watch out for standing water)
