Hey guys, anyone know if the nismo 2-way lsd for open diff will swap into the open diff 240sx w/o having to get a new driveshaft, etc?

When you buy an aftermarket LSD, you install it into your existing differential case. You dont have to change anything but the internals of your differential housing.

What bearings!?! There are no bearing to press in. You just have to swap your ring gear off and put the shims back in the exact the way they came out. I would change your output shafts seals though.:)

i thought those bearings that come w/the kit needed to be pressed. Maybe not

See that bearing on top (and one on bottom)

yes you need to press the new bearings on to the carrier. if you have a vlsd rear you will probably need output shafts too. the output shafts from an open rear should fit. my Nismo lsd did not come as a kit so i had to buy the bearings.

If you have the kit, it should come with everything. I just installed mine and broke it in yesterday and you will need to press the bearings.

Do you need a special tool to press bearings? or bring it to a shop to press?

Thanks for your help, I'm planning this install in a month or two since I've went over my limit on buying other car pieces for now.

I installed this at my dad's shop and we used a shop press.. It is much easier and more precise to use a shop press..
