For those of you who have installed the Nismo 19's on your car. What did you guys do about the valve stem and the TPMS? The valve stem that came with the rims, can you use those with the TPMS sensors or would i have to go and order new ones?

i need to know soon because i am getting these installed tomorrow

You can either use the Rays vavle stem it comes with or you can transfer your stock TPMS to the Nismo's. Either one will work.

Id swap the stock tpms in there and sell the rays stems on ebay... but either should work...

Hell you could sell both of them and just use any old valve stem!

but if i were to swap them, would i have to remove the valve stem along with the tpms from the OEM rim and install them onto the NISMO's?

No you can't. You will have to choose one. As for swapping it out, they would need to compress the tire where the TPMS is. That way they can take it out and put it in the Nismo's.

How about this, if these were my wheels. I would install the Rays, but at the sametime I don't care about the TPMS warning light you would get since the TPMS isn't installed. Its really your own decision.

alright, i wouldn't mind it as well, but my neighbor, who is going to install the rims and tires, would find it annoying and try to fix it. so im trying to get this done right the first time you know.

thanks for your help Loop and LBC!!, probably won't be installing these tomorrow since he is doing it for free, so i will be waiting probably a week or two, but its all good

i actually bought a new set of tpms sensors. havent installed my nismo 19's yet, but it looks like you can use the top part of the rays valve stem and the valve cover on the tpms sensor. it mite look a little off because the tpms stem isnt black.

dont mix and match them, either rays or the stock ones...

beware though, if someone jacks the cap off the rays it wont look right without a rays cap!

I have nismo valve caps and they have been jacked several times.

True, it would look a little off if you mixed and match them. I did buy some nismo valve cover from ebay. They also have some nismo valve covers that you can tighten with a small allen key, not sure if you looked into those ones LBC or if they work well.

Hehe I think I have the chrome ones on my 19" nismos. Guess I should put the rays caps on. For the record I switched over the stock TPMS to my 19". About a month ago. I got a slow leak on one of the tires and found out I cracked a TPMS sensor. Must of hit a pot hole. Everything is cool with a new one. Just have to get it recalibrated next time I am at the dealer for an oil change.

how bad was the pot hole?

and do you think it could of happened because of a bad install?

and what is the profile of your tire? did you get the recommended set up of 245/40/19

is 245/40 the recommended tire size for 19x8.5 rims? Tirerack reccomends 245/35 for a 19x8.5" rim for the altima coupe 3.5 and 245/40 for the maxima. I guess its a marginal difference?

Yeah I think the pot hole was pretty bad. The snow plow tore the street up and I hit when I was going around a corner. I don't think it was a bad install. The rims have been on the cars since October. Yeah get 245/40/19. I think you can go down to 235, but I like have the most meat I can on my tires. I took it to a goodyear service center for the install. They were pretty cool and careful when doing the install.
