Hey all, I realized my carb never had this rod and I was hoping to just make one myself. Would anyone be able to take a few measurements for me?

Basically I need the measurement of the rod angle as well as the length of each side of the bend.

Thanks!!!

Deerio,
See if you can use this to fab one. Material is .125 or 1/8" diameter. The bend is 19 degrees up off of straight. The right end of the rod in the photos is the bottom end that hooks to the throttle lever.

Thanks Steve! I managed to get a 0.125" stainless rod from fastenal last week for $2 but I just needed the measurements. I'll let you know how it works out, thanks again!

Head up where it shouldn't be. Probably the most important dimension. 3 1/2" rod-end to rod-end.

deerio,
As you might be able to see from the photos the top end (choke lever) has two tangs sweged onto the rod end such that it enters the lever and rotates to line up with the throttle lever and when rotated, can't come out of the choke lever. The throttle lever has a groove for a snap-on c-clip or retainer clip. Sounds like you have decent fabricating skills. C-Clips or drilled holes for small cotter pins will secure both ends at the levers.

Let me know if you need more photos or info. Have you posted photos of your project?

Haha my fabricating skills are close to non-existent but I try to do what I can.

I'm hoping to use a Dremel with a grinder or cutoff attachment to create
A groove for a C-clip. Hopefully can be done as easily as I have it in my head.

I was thinking cotter pins as well but the rod diameter is so small I'd have a hard time drilling a hole

So I managed to get the rod all bent up, took about 15mins of measuring and remeasuring. I used nothing but a vice, a ruler, and a protractor I printed online (haven't had one since highschool!)

Thanks for all the measurements Steve! It fits AND works perfectly. I just need to trim it and create the grooves for the C-clips.

Looking good deerio. Yes a cotter pin would probably work better than attempting make the groove for the C-clip. Just flatten one side a little so the drill bit will not slide off and use a fine cobalt drill bit. Might even be easier to just thread the ends an go with a nut and washer.
