Anybody else want to get their hands on this peice of s**t?!It's been over a year now, and I'm still paying on the loan for the bulls**t engine he sold me. Last I heard, hes no longer in buisness. No wonder he sounded shaded when I told him I'd prefer to pick up the engine instead of shipping it. I should have trusted my instincts. Here goes: CA18DET 1/2cut- 2,600 shipped.Engine came w/ wrong trannyWiring harness hacked upCoil packs were shotNo pipe for B.O.VTurbo lasted for 2 monthsEngine lasted for 3 months until spun bearing in #3.

Sorry you got a raw deal with the wrong transmission and yes, the individual that sold you that engine is no longer in business. But to school for future references:

1. Wiring harnesses are not always complete unless you made that pefectly clear that you are paying for a complete harness.

2. Coilpacks were shot: Those are a wear item and should've indicated to you that the engine was beat down from it's previous owner.

3. The CA18DET does not come with a B.O.V. from factory, so again, unless you made that perfectly clear and it was understood, none was to be provided as it is an aftermarket option and not standard.

4. No engine importer warrants turbochargers as those too are wear items and in some cases are not cheap or easy for an importer to replace or make a sell. So, unless the importer promised you a perfect or functioning turbocharger, you'll have to swallow that as well.

5. And if the engine lasted 3 months and spun a bearing, I'm pretty sure your warranty was done and preventive maintenance should've been performed before installing the motor. A 30-day warranty usually accompany a motorset, but since they sent you the wrong transmission, maybe an extended period should've been afforded to you.

At times, the truth may seem harsh, but I'm telling it to you now like it is and like I know it. It's okay to vent, but have you any clue how many people had problems with this guy?

night7/cameron was the biggest scammer around afew years back, EVERY nissan forum had huge posts about what a scumbag he was... RESEARCH BEFORE YOU BUY. I can't believe you actually bought something from him, unless you're from that initial group that got screwed by him, but I'm pretty sure that was 2-3 years ago.

asher:He said it was 2600 for the 1/2 cut.

89clubk's: Sorry to hear about what had happened. I hope things work out better from this point. From what I heard alot of people paid and didn't even get anything. What goes around comes around and Cameron/ Night7 will get his in the end.

I looked at those guys when I was shopping around for my ca a couple of years back, but ended up getting mine from Dee "boost boy" and couldn't be any happier with the decision I made. Many thanks Dee.

Forgot to metion that the engine was "suppose" to have 50K miles. The odemeter on the 1/2 cut came out to be 75K miles. Big difference!Of course, the car was an auto in Japan, and then swapped to a 5sp. ( I know this b/c the dash had a "power hold button" found on Autos. So god knows how much milage. Hundreds maybe? I know the CA didn't come with a B.O.V, but the pic he sent me had one, and I didn't even recieve to black pipe. The engine did have good compression, and he told me it ran good. Can't run good w/ two coil packs shot. Unfortunatly, this was about 3 years ago. I didn't know of NICO...I would have gotten it from Boost Boy. At that time, hardly any shops had the CA18DET. So I didn't have vary many choices. In 3 years, I've driven my car for 6 months due to losing money, and broken parts. My new engine sounds alot better than my 1st one, but I have been driving careful to break it back in. Thats when the SR turbo went...I was just wondering how many guys were f**cked other than me.We should plan a trip to Arizona... bring your baseball bats!

Now Pat.. you need to settle down. Unfortunatly I had read in SuperStreet that that was a good place to receive an engine. Unfortunatly I forgot SuperStreet is a ricer mag and didn't know the difference. But, yeah Cameron was really nervous when we planned a trip there to pick up the engine. He didn't want us to know he was working out of his parent garage!

i feel your pain, i got ****ed over on my SR buy, my motor has a cracked piston ring and was blowing oil through my turbo. then my afc controler was set to run rich to cancel out this problem. It said it only had 15,000 Miles. I'm doing a full rebuild right now.

I got a front cut from Venus for $1700 shipped. I drove the car for about 6 months before it started burning oil so bad I had to tear it down. It had a scored piston/clynder and the rings were shot. I completely rebuilt it and it's been a dream since, although I'm afraid I've got a leaky HG, but that's prob. operator error...

Sorry to hear that! my SR buddy uses a Long Block from Venus. His is great. Thought they were supposed to be a good shop. Then again, I bought my 2nd CA18 from Jazz Pro Parts, and it came with a blown turbo, hole in the oil pan, and 4 bad coils. My brother has an SR from them (in which they sent brand new wiring with it), and buddy has a H22 from there as well. My new CA sounds and feels alot better than the last. I hear Boost Boy is the way to go!

This is hard stuff to control, the import companies can´t control the internals and wear of bearings. They have no contact with old owners and if they changed oil in time.

This the sad truth when you buy used parts. On the other hand I think the import companies make enough money to replace bad engines if the customer got problems from day 1.

Thats true. It's all about the hype! I can bet my bottom dollar guys in Japan aren't paying up to $2,000 for a 15-year old engine that probably needs rebuilt. Damn!

A CA here cost max 700 USD but they are pretty rare now. Still a lot of them in Germany.
