night rider screen messages

my buddies call my cars little odometer/ error screen on my 90Q the nightrider screen, well for the past couple weeks its been saying "stop lamp inoperative" all my lights work tho, except the one on my rear bumper running light that has never worked and my wireing all looks good and no problems, how to fix this lovely and annoying error?

OEM bulbs only. But inspect all sockets and their wiring.

like brian said mostly its due to non OEM bulbs. I was skeptical at first but i ordered 2 new stop lamp bulbs from Joe and it fixed it!!!!

the bulbs have been in there (the same ones) sence i owned the car and the screen started displaying the message recently, no bulbs are out tho
