Carlisle, Pennsylvania (just west of Harrisburg)zoomzooomzxtech wrote:Where is this "Carlisle Fairground's" ?
Its manual starter (me with a stop watch), we're low techflohtingPoint wrote:I put my name in the hat. Unlimted runs is too much to pass up. There is a points event locally but I'll just have that count as one of my "worst times" that gets thrown out at the end of the season.
Any idea of the course layout? National style or more regional style? Starting tree or manual starter?
You can use me for tech if you need it.

Hmm, very tight course with little room for line improvisation. It'll be interesting as I've never driven on anything that tight.Bubba1 wrote:

Here is a ride along video from 2 yrs ago, courtesy of Magikdragon. It'll give you an idea of the layout. It should not be radically different due to width of the oavement. It's a two lap run clockwise, with some interesting camber changes.

We understand Carlisle is resurfacing the track in April
Yep, but I think you'll find it entertaining.flohtingPoint wrote:

I've no doubt =) Seat time is always needed and I have a spare motor at home so I dont have to worry about thrashing the one in my Corolla.Bubba1 wrote:

Do it now. I'm thinking about swapping in my spare 4AG next Sunday so I have a fresh motor.zoomzooomzxtech wrote:

Appreciate the invite, but I don't think that weekend works for me.flohtingPoint wrote:

Myself and a few fellow DC region autox'ers are heading down, getting a hotel there and such. If you feel like heading down and traveling with us, feel free to hit me up. My email is in my profile.
Unfortunately I cannot do weekdays Brother =( With the project that I'm on right now, I'm senior engineer so Mon-Fri is always a must in terms of being at work. I already pulled out my one favor I had left with the other senior engineer on our team at the beginning of the season to help with the Level 1 auto-x school.Bubba1 wrote:

But I am doing a few days on VIR's full course a 4/19-4/20 (Audi HPDE).I think they have slots open if you're interested in some track time there..
I like Summit Point too. Interesting how we haven't crossed paths yet. I believe I'm slated to do an HPDE on Summit Main in September, (though I prefer Shenandoah).flohtingPoint wrote:

I think I have two HPDE's scheduled for Summit though this season if you're interested in either of those. It'd be a closer drive for you.
Ah, that'd probably be because I'm just starting HPDE this year (figured that it's about time), up until now my track experience has been limited to open track days and karting. My main forte is autox.Bubba1 wrote:

You never know.sr20goofus wrote:oh wonderful more nissan drivers actually coming out to events. Maybe ill get to instruct you guys, who knows.
And your point? (just kidding ). That is a long drive. But as info, a few weeks after Carlisle is Omaha, which is a much closer point from Austin, (still a long ride, but 50% closer).n00b240 wrote:Such a long drive from texas
Good luck. We hope things will come together for you that you could make it even one day. It would be great to finally meet you.sr20goofus wrote:dont think im going to end up making this event, i get my car back from the header fabricator may 3-4, then i get to start all the wiring to the ECU, might not be mobile by then maybe the second day i can come out if the first day is nothing but productivity.

Hopefully everything gets situated and you can make it out.sr20goofus wrote:dont think im going to end up making this event, i get my car back from the header fabricator may 3-4, then i get to start all the wiring to the ECU, might not be mobile by then maybe the second day i can come out if the first day is nothing but productivity.
