Hi everyone. Registration has opened for 4th annual NICOfest autocross at the Carlisle Performance and Style Show. It's free with paid admission to the P&S show if you sign up on our registration thread. We're talking an unlimited # of autocross runs over two days. Literally hours of track time over a weekend.

It will be held on the Carlisle Fairground's private track on the turnpike side of their property. SCCA hosts Solo II there. Our course will be similar SCCA's, (though last year we had a few extra turns) , but there are no special classes or restrictions. Bring any maKe/model car you want (as long as it passes a simple tech inspection) The tech requirements/rules are on the registration thread) R compunds are permitted.

Here's the link:

zer...hread

If you're a seasoned autocrosser, this is a great opportunity to get a ton of practice time. If you've never autocrossed before, it's a wonderful chance to try it out to see if you like it, and to get together with a huge group of enthusiasts.

All of the details are on that registration thread. Carlisle puts on some great shows, and all of their Performance and Style attractions are included as well as the autocrossing.

Hope to see you there.

Assuming I dont have a local event, I'm game. I'll have to find someone to follow me up and hold my Hoosier A6's though.

I put my name in the hat. Unlimted runs is too much to pass up. There is a points event locally but I'll just have that count as one of my "worst times" that gets thrown out at the end of the season.

Any idea of the course layout? National style or more regional style? Starting tree or manual starter?

You can use me for tech if you need it.

Its manual starter (me with a stop watch), we're low tech

Here is a ride along video from 2 yrs ago, courtesy of Magikdragon. It'll give you an idea of the layout. It should not be radically different due to width of the oavement. It's a two lap run clockwise, with some interesting camber changes.

We understand Carlisle is resurfacing the track in April

Hmm, very tight course with little room for line improvisation. It'll be interesting as I've never driven on anything that tight.

I've no doubt =) Seat time is always needed and I have a spare motor at home so I dont have to worry about thrashing the one in my Corolla.

Do it now. I'm thinking about swapping in my spare 4AG next Sunday so I have a fresh motor.

Appreciate the invite, but I don't think that weekend works for me.

But I am doing a few days on VIR's full course a 4/19-4/20 (Audi HPDE).I think they have slots open if you're interested in some track time there..

Unfortunately I cannot do weekdays Brother =( With the project that I'm on right now, I'm senior engineer so Mon-Fri is always a must in terms of being at work. I already pulled out my one favor I had left with the other senior engineer on our team at the beginning of the season to help with the Level 1 auto-x school.

I think I have two HPDE's scheduled for Summit though this season if you're interested in either of those. It'd be a closer drive for you.

I like Summit Point too. Interesting how we haven't crossed paths yet. I believe I'm slated to do an HPDE on Summit Main in September, (though I prefer Shenandoah).

Ah, that'd probably be because I'm just starting HPDE this year (figured that it's about time), up until now my track experience has been limited to open track days and karting. My main forte is autox.

And your point? (just kidding ). That is a long drive. But as info, a few weeks after Carlisle is Omaha, which is a much closer point from Austin, (still a long ride, but 50% closer).

well i was near(ish)to Carlisle when i picked my car up from header fabricator last night at 10pm. Not even close to running this weekend, but getting very close to finished all together. Ran into 2 guys at the sheetz in Hanover who i heard calling my car a drift car, so i couldnt just sit there and listen to that and corrected them, still didnt believe me it was a road-race car. Wish i could have made it fellas, havnt been to a meet in a loooooong time, once im up and running hen i will plan attending events instead of riding on hopes and dreams.
