Ok so Brian will probably hate me for making this but im excited. NICO has set aside some hotel rooms already for us. They have a couple cabins available, so i was thinking why dont we pair up and split a cabin since we can fit more people and itll be cheaper for people like me. This seems like a great trip that could be alot of fun. Our normal Carlisle trip is known for our partying but this trip will probably be a little diff. I plan on driving the tail of the dragon with others and enjoying it to its fullest potential. The trip to the Biltmore Estate should be some epic pictures. Also i can deff see the highest point in TN being an amazing spot for some even better shots.

SO who wants to go to this and geta cabin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

5 2 Bedroom Laurel Cabins
5 2 Bedroom Hemlock Cabins
5 3 Bedroom Magnolia Cabins
3 3 Bedroom Hemlock Cabins

This sounds EPIC!!! Price details available yet?

Gotta talk it over with the finace, but would love to go. Put me down as interested for now. We did the whole Blue Ridge last year and the pics we got there were amazing! Cherokee was a funny place to see, we drove straight through it though. It's only 9 hours away from us.

If all goes well, NYC (and beyond) area people are welcome to crash here to make the drive 4 hours shorter. Wish we could do the Blue Ridge all the way down, but it would take about 2 days of driving. Most of the parkway has 45 mph with a few spots at 35 mph, and trust me, it's enforced!

I'm interested. I've driven the Dragon several times way back when(70s). If my situation(moving down south) goes quickly then I'll be there. Clingman's Dome is a medium climb, not easy, not hard. It would be great to visit my old stomping grounds.

I've done the dragon a few times already with my race bikes. It's fun..318 turns in 11 miles (or something like that) Remember guys, this is US highway 129 that runs from Tennessee and NC. Cops patrol it and every kind of vehicle goes down this road..including semis! When we went down, my buddy hit a deer and a turkey (2 separate occasions on the same day) and another hit a wild boar! :wtf2: If I had my knife with me, we'd be having pulled pork that night. :chuckle: Also keep in mind that this is over Labor Day weekend so you can bet state cops and local LEOs will be out in full force.

I'd love to go to this however, this falls on my birthday weekend and I'm sure my wife has something planned for me...know what I'm saying :naughty: She'll be blowing my..... :birthday candle! :lolling:

That's the big hurdle here, too. Might have family plans.

Is why I need to do some checking.

how is it being labor day weekend a problem (other than family stuff)? for me it means there's a whole extra day to travel!

That fixes the cop issue. But it's the other idiots that are the problem with the traffic issue.

true about traffic, but I just can't see 81 being too bad, I guess 95 would be a lot worse...there's always the option of leaving early/late to beat traffic, that's what we end up doing when traveling from MD (DC area) to NYC for Thanksgiving and such (most traffic-y day ever), this year we left at 11pm and have a very smooth ride in

I'd do it if it weren't on labor day. Perhaps we can organize our own alti-coupe rally at the dragon and cruise the cherahola highway then enjoy a great dinner and drinks with friends!
