Nicoclub app for iphone/android/windows phones

i was trying to find an app for this place the other day and nothing turned up. granted i'm on an iphone and don't know whether there is one for android or windows phones. but if there isn't, there really should be one. i just think that not only could it be an awesome resource at the flick of a finger while working on your nissan, or someone else's, but it would be a great way to keep up in the NICO community and see what's goin on. what do you guys think? and if there is one already, then this post is invalidated lolz

There sure is. There's Safari for iPhone, Chrome for Android, and Internet Exploder for anyone unfortunate enough to have spent money on a Windows Phone.

Sarcasm aside...in the modern day of fully-fledged web browsers, high-res screens, and speedy mobile connections, there's no need for a dedicated "app" for a website.

I honestly find such apps irritating, because they only restrict functionality. And there's nothing more obnoxious than being asked if I would like to download a website's app when trying to actually navigate to it with my web browser. No, I would not like to download the Official XDA App. I would like to use my modern web browser to view the complete site. And I would like to not be interrupted by questions while trying to do so.

The only thing a NICO app would do differently would be presenting everything with big text and big buttons. Pinch-zoom solves that problem in any browser.

I use NICO very frequently on my phone, but I've never felt the need for a NICO-specific app.

Basically MoD said what needed to be said, but basically mobile apps for websites are becoming a thing of the past.

Responsive design is the way all of the websites are going these days and NICO will be converted eventually to. Responsive design is what has made mobile apps a thing of the past, because basically depending on the device you visit the site from the site will automatically change and rescale itself to work perfectly on your device. Take a look at sites like Autoblog.com and Jalopnik.com from your phone and you'll see what I mean.

Also, to state what has been stated over and over again on this subject(because it comes up every few months): This site is completely free and the staff works for completely free. A mobile app is very expensive and time consuming to develop, on top of the fact that this website is so complex that making everything play nice with a mobile app would make it even more expensive to develop. So unless you have a mobile app developer in your back pocket that has tons of experience and will work for free, then it's not going to happen

Rollout for our responsive design is slated for the end of April. Apps are a band-aid, responsive sites are the answer.

p.s. Gotta be honest, I hate iPhone for anything web-related. I can run the entire NICOclub site from my Note.

Still trying to find A solution for the info/maps problem, picking up my new car later this week, but been doing a fair bit of digging about them. I am running and Samsung mobile, android system as my other car has the car - link and or mirror link system, so I can use the ,here we go maps system, or Google maps, or other. As well Bluetooth or direct cable connect for films and MP3 put through the in car system. My 2015 Hybrid Q50 S soon to arrive; seems to be near Iphone ready or almost, but not Android, odd that. Looking on the NET, it seems for some other worldly price of 5 or 600$ or more they will send some circuit board which I have take half the car to bits to install, if I could that is, so that’s not an option for me. I am thinking of just clipping the phone to a dash vent and using that, as is; but I can connect the USB to the info system in the car , what is the best it will run from the phone, MP3,? Phone? or nothing. Is there some work around or to install some patch to help stuff along regards this problem. Andy advice? / help…
