I just recently changed my fuel pump in my 91 q45 about a month ago with a bosch fuel pump, I recently was experiencing a problem with my car staying on and have erratic idling from a 200rpm's to 800rpm's and then the car would cut off, my first thought was that darn my mas air flow sensor went bad and i did have a spare good one, but when i changed that and it still had the erratic up and down idle and then shutoff, i came to my favorite site of course which was nico, and it saved the day, a gentlemen had put up a memo about jumping the fuel controller, and thats just what i did, and like magic the car started right up and growled like a angry tiger or rather like a smooth tiger the moral of this story is come to the nico website, its informative and it saves you lots and lots of money so that you can do the job yourself.

So now it's time to replace that controller and you should be good to go! The fuel system isn't designed to run at high pressure all the time...
